Apple & Cinnamon Flapjacks



Even On A Healthy Eating Plan You Can Have A Sweet Treat!
The Boyfriend and I Did Some Baking Today :)
**Recipe for our Home Made Cheap, Easy and Healthy Apple, Cinnamon and Cherry Flapjacks!**

Recipe:
2 Apples - Sliced
4.5oz Glazed Cherries - Chopped in Half
2 Dessert Spoons Cinnamon Stick - Crushed
60ml Cold Water
3tbsp Lemon Juice
6oz Porridge Oats

Preheat Oven to 175c - Line Approx an 8inch by 5inch Tin with Greaseproof Paper

Pour 20ml of Cold Water and 2tbsp of lemon juice in a pan, add the chopped up apple
and simmer over heat for approx 15 minutes or until slightly mushy - can use a potato masher to speed up the process

Take off heat and stir in the cherries and cinnamon

Add the porridge oats, pour in 40ml of cold water and 1tbsp of lemon juice,
place back on the heat and stir the ingredients until combined

Pour the mixture in to the tin evenly spread and place in the oven to bake for 25 minutes or until golden brown on top

Once removed from oven, leave to cool for 10 minutes before removing from the tray,
cut in to rectangles and cool for an hour before tasting - Enjoy!! :)

*You can swap cherries for apricots, raisins, blackberries or any other fruit of your choice! Experiment :)*
